Michael Hartman Obituary

Michael D. Hartman, passed away peacefully at Johnson City Medical Center on March 24, 2024, at the age of 72.

Born on May 21, 1951, in Johnson City, Tennessee, Michael grew up surrounded by the love of his parents, the late Thomas and Louise Hartman, and his siblings. He came from a large and vibrant family, which over time, sadly saw the passing of his siblings Marsha Swanner, Walter Hartman, Pauletta Loos, and Lisa Hartman. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Patty Hartman, his proud sons, Jason Hartman (and his wife, Kim) and Brian Hartman (and his wife, Trish), and fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Leann, Brittney, Halia, and great-grandchildren, Anna, Brett, and Braxton. He is also survived by his sister Judy Dobbs, brother Eddie Hartman, and several nieces and nephews.

Michael spent the last ten years in the Unicoi area. He had a successful career, formerly working at Modern Forge, Superior Wheels, and Douglas Dynamics.

Aside from his professional life, Michael was an aficionado of the outdoors. He found solace and joy in working with wood, creating pieces that reflected both his skill and his passion for the craft. Fishing was another of Michael's favorite pastimes, and he spent many tranquil hours by the water's edge, reveling in the serenity of nature and the thrill of the catch.

Indeed, Michael was a man of many virtues. His loving heart provided a foundation of support to his family and friends. Those who had the pleasure of his company knew him as a man of great intelligence; he had an innate understanding of the world around him and a natural curiosity that kept his mind sharp. As a repository of wisdom, Michael often imparted invaluable advice and guidance to those within his circle.

In honoring Michael's life, let us remember the lessons he shared through his actions and the heartfelt stories he told. He has left an indelible mark on the tapestry of many lives, and it is with deep respect and affection that we bid farewell to such an extraordinary soul.
