Uncle Roger,

You never ceased to let me know how very proud you were of me. I kept all the letters you sent me while I was at U.T. and during that difficult
first year of teaching in Clarksville. You also were so proud of my husband Robert for serving his country. I remember when we were stationed in Germany and Robert was serving his 3rd tour in Afghanistan, You e-mailed me every time a helicopter went down just to make sure it wasn't Robert's and that Dalton and I were okay. You have always looked over me. When Dalton and I moved back to Johnson City 5 months ago, while Robert was in Korea it was a blessing in disguise. We were able to visit and talk on the phone. I will always treasure those moments. In all of your letters, e-mails, and phone calls, you would end them by saying "Thank you for being my friend". Uncle Roger, Thank you for being my friend and now my guardian angel from above

Roger was quiet a guy, I went up in the Cherokee 140 airplane with him as his first solo with a passenger and we flew all the JC area. Roger was a great member of the JC community and i'm very happy to have known him. I really enjoyed doing business with him and his dad at the service station.

To all the Family of James Mitchell Leftwich: We are so sorry for your loss. We are sending our LOVE & PRAYERS to ALL. Bill has known Mitchell all his life and feels he owes his life to him for several reasons, Once he helped lift and get him out of a mining accident when a major rock fell on him, second he again pulled him from another mine rock fall the instant it fell, he also contributes his mine safety work to his friends knowledge, they also lived and worked together cutting mine timbers. He does know that he has lost a Good Friend, and he is praying for you all. Just because he is unable to attend services does not mean that he does not feel the pain of this loss you boys have. I have known Mitchell for the past 34 years; I can say he was a good provider for his family and a very pleasant person to be around. I want you all to know that we love and are Praying for you All. A death of a Loved One is not ever easy; even though we know it is inevitable; the memories keep them alive in our hearts.

To the Buckles family;

Just wanted to let you know how deeply saddened we are by the passing of Dear Eva Mae. She was an angel to all of us, and always went out of her way to tell me and my family how much she loved us. The world is truly a lesser place without her presence in it. And may god lift you up and give you the stregnth to know that she is in a much grerater place this morning than we are.She was truly an angel here on earth, and her kind is getting further and further between. I never heard her say a derogratory thing about anything, except for the temperature in the sanctuary. If you all need anything, please dont hesitate to call. Know that your family will be in our prayers and that we love you all very much.

A lot of people want some thing to search forward to, as well as guarantee of the Large level of revenue does that. Steve Paul You most likely is addicted for the idea how you can turn into wealthy with no any afford. Lots of men and women consider it is simple to win a million dollars just to play lottery often enough. A number of them even produce a budget to play every week or so. I choose to share an thought how to maximize probabilities to win. craziest new site
new Inside the instance, I merely removed just one lotto number from play to demonstrate the dramatic effect this has on your chances of winning. Because of this, the lotto player is left enjoying a fresh lotto named the Lotto Texas 6/53. This basic tactic has the monumental result of getting rid of just about three,000,000 wagers from play leading to a corresponding improvement during the players likelihood of winning the lotto. Some people may perhaps maybe prefer acquiring their ticket by using a distinct day or time; this evening or time also can correspond to 1 specific inside your biggest lottery figures to choose. Several persons are enthusiastic about how to maximize their odds of winning the lotto ; what could you do to augment your odds? What factors have assisted previous lotto winners?

FAMILY of JR COUNTS

I knew from the moment I met JR that we would be friends? I couldn?t help but smile, when he smiled. I can?t help but to smile, through my tears, when I think back at the man I knew as a gentle giant? a kind, caring, do anything for you- friend, father and papa. Our meeting was not by chance but by God, JR came into my life when I needed him and helped me restore a very precious relationship. JR sure did have a way with words? he could talk to anyone. So, JR if you are reading this? my relationship with my son is still going strong, thank-you, my friend. To Ashley, Megan and Sarah, I am sorry for your loss and I pray that God comforts you and carries you through this difficult time. I am always here for you if you need me.

Ed, we're all going to miss Marti, but none so much as you. Remember her love for you in order to help you navigate these rocky waters. Try also to be aware that there is no oneway ticket; all trips are round. The tour afforded by one short lifetime escorts us from conception, inception, reception, & perception thru susception, intussusception, misconception, & deception to eventual exception thru tears engendered by physical & emotional states varying from joy to pain to grief to ecstasy. Try to concentrate on the first & last of that spectrum & how those states were sometimes shared by you & Marti. We love you too, so take care of yourself during this lugubrious interval.

I too remember her cooking in the Manistee house. Every Christmas, Christine and I would go home and she'd be in the kitchen slicing and dicing. She would always make borscht for us (although Christine wouldn't have any) and the homemade plum pudding with rum sauce. I swear I would gain 5 pounds a day and I didn't care.
I also remember her teaching me that a "clean house is a Godly house" although I never really understood how the two related. I was always just happy to help out in any way I could and she always made it fun to clean. We would turn on the "oldies" radio station and sing and dance while doing the chores. I think that is what describes her best - she met all challenges with a song and a smile in her heart, keeping God in her thoughts and on her tongue. She will be missed and forever loved.

Dear Christine, Larry, Greg and Andrea
I am so sorry for your loss. I know this kind of pain all too well and I feel horrible for the suffering you all must now endure. In the end, family is what remains. It is now more important than ever that you love and support each other for no one sibling suffers more that the other. I will keep you all in my prayers that God helps you all to find peace and comfort, not just with yourselves but with each other as well. Knowing your mom as I did, the one thing she wanted the most was for all of you to be the gift to each other that she and Larry hoped for. Love and support each other. Love is patient and kind. 1 Corinthians 13.

My deepest sorrows goes out to Stevie Dear Family and friends. We all know that if you were steves friend, he was a part of your family. He was your friend to the end. I had the privilidge or workin with steve for around 3 years. He was a big hearted good, hardworking guy. Many a mornings we'd ride to get a biscuit for break and eat a sandwich for lunch and just talk cars, fishin, and about the good ol' days when life was alot simpler.I didnt know many of his friend or his family but I can tell ya he loved all of you'ns. He always spoke of his granny always had the best things to say about his friends especially his cousin johnnie and his family and Raymond and shannon and his family and dickie and so many others. None of us will ever forget him. If everybody was as good hearted as Steve, there would be alot of Smil'in people and all of us would have that friend that you could call on for anything,no matter how big or small, day or night,or if it meant the last dollar in his pocket or the shirt off his back or workin til dark just cause a friend was in need That was our Dear Friend Steve. Our GOD is a merciful GOD and I Pray you are in the arms of Angels my friend. Rest In Peace my friend, there will never be another like you.

I am so saddened to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was such a sweetheart with a heart of gold. My thoughts are now with you Roy, at the loss you must bare. I leave you with a poem of prayer and thought by Rev. George Shaw.

"Out of the depths to Thee I cry,
whose fainting footsteps trod
The paths of our humanity,
Incarnate Son of God.

Let faith transcend the passing hour,
the transient pain and strife,
Upraised by immortal power,-
The power of endless life.

What a wonderful reunion awaits us all in heaven

Liz and Jennifer,
Virginia was a lady that was very kind hearted, that loved to laugh, told stories of her world travels and her students in her language classes, and could sing with the voice of an angel. I was always amazed that she was able to sing songs, by memory, and not missing a word of the song. Virginia's family and friends were very important to her, she always had enough love for everyone, you never felt left out. I truly loved her and will miss her. My condolences and prayers for the entire family.

Jennifer & Elizabeth-
I will always remember Aunt Virginia as a bright and shining star.
So vivacious a woman, who lived life to the fullest and loved her family. Although logistics kept us apart too often- we always loved to hear her stories and tales of traveling the world. I am so glad that Meghan had a chance to meet her last year. She lived a very full life and will be missed. Please convey our deepest sympathy to your entire family during your time of sorrow. We are saddened by the news of Uncle Jerry's passing. As a child I was blessed to know him as a handsome young man who loved the Lord , I especially remember him singing and playing his guitar. He was something of a magician too ! I know even though he endured many problems in life, he loved his family above all things. I am confident that he is in a much better place, rejoicing in the Lord and reunited with our loved ones. Praying that God will grant you comfort and peace during this time of sorrow. Jon Jacobson and I met in 1970 at a house party on St. petersburg Beach and became fast friends soon after. We shared problems with children, marriage and divorce, we laughed, cried, sang and played together and with our friends. We had a strong and lasting friendship that endured time and distance until last Saturday.
I shall miss our conversations that always shared a joke or two.Jon had an insight into life that made him a very special person. If you needed help in any way, he would be the first to be there for you. His off beat sense of humor gave me a great deal of laughter and he endured my banter. I admire the bravery that Jon had as he faced his impending death. Jon Jacobson was my friend and there is a hole on the eath where he used to walk.
May he rest at the right hand of God.

We Remember You
(Dedicated to J. Sam Fann)

You entered our lives at various points,
You changed each of us in so many ways.
Our talks varied and every one of them educated us,
Your gifts are still quite cherished.
The kindness that you gave so freely,
And the sacrifices that you endured are understood.

Our parting was one of lasting sorrow,
It changed us for the remainder of our time.
You are still an inspirational light to us,
Your wisdom still guides our hands and mind.
You may be gone but you are never far from us,
One day God willing we shall be together again.

Just a note to say, that it has been a pleasure to have served Mr. Norman Street, as a social-worker from Good Samaritan Ministries here in Johnson City. Dear Nanny,
You were a very kind and giving woman, yet stubborn and unique. I will remember you every time I eat chicken and dumplings and am disappointed, because you made the BEST. I will remember you every time I see a hummingbird, an alley cat, or read a good book. Every time I see Chloe coloring with crayons, I will remember how you let me color your nails with them. We all miss you. I promise to make sure Pa stays busy.

Sam was my all-time favorite teacher in college. I had him several times over the last few years and greatly enjoyed each class. He emphasized the importance of helping others and having compassion for those need. He brought it many folks from the Manna House to speak to the class and bring awareness tho their plights. Sam reminded us of the extreme importance of giving back to your community and to your country if at all possible. Students were very fond of Sam because he treated us like the adults we are and really cared about teaching us the class from a first-hand account rather than strictly from books and powerpoints. I can honestly say I learned more in his class than any other because he kept it real and interesting. I feel honored that I was one of the lucky few to have been blessed to know him and study under him. He will be missed deeply!

Although Sam was the director here at Manna House he was also a friend and brother to the residents here. He was without a doubt the most compassionate and benevolent person I had ever met. His ability to take on even the most broken individuals and see the positive in them is truly laudatory. I cannot ever remember anyone saying anything negative about Sam but what is truly amazing is how many people have been positively affected by this man. He will truly be missed. To the Snyder Family
"GOODBY FARRELL"

You can shed tears because he is gone or you can smile because he lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back,
Or you open your eyes and see all that he left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
Or you can be full the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and that he is gone,
Or you cherish his memory and live on.
"We love you and will miss you untill we meet again,
For our family circle will not be broken."

At a time like this, Farrell would say there are no words to express our sorry to the family. But as a cousin, I have known Farrell since we were young. He has always been the bright happy going person that life should have let him be. As a person seeing the departure of loved ones, Farrell knew this day was coming.
I say thanks Farrell for all the good times, smiles you gave to me and Joyce and wish all the love to your family. Billy, life takes it's course, you know better than anyone, but your son. I do share your pain if I may. Time will heal the pain of loss, but you never forget.

To Lori Usary and her family...

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of working with Lori, and she was incredible. She was a light among darkness and always kept a positive outlook on even the darkest situation. She looked out for me on several occasions and I will never forget that. She had the distinction of being an incredibly down to earth and intelligent woman. I always admired the way she never passed judgment on others, and truly tried to help everyone that crossed her path. She helped me and saved my job, and I know that she was a help to her clients as well. I am sorry that the world has lost this wonderful woman, but I know that she has left a positive mark on so many people...including me. I hope that this story can help bring you serenity in your grief. I wish her family and friends well and express my deepest sympathy for all of you. May Lori rest in peace.

Janice,
I am sorry to hear about Troy. He was a very hard working man, he always treated me good.He would do anything for anyone to help them. Lonnie said he gave him the first wallet he ever had with a chain on it. He has talked about when he was a little boy and Troy would take him over to the farm with him.He really enjoyed that with him.Jessie really like him too I remember when she was little she would hear him coming and run to the door to wave at him. I know its hard right now but we know he's in a better place he has no more pain. I wont be able to be there tonight but Lonnie is coming. If i can do anything just let me know.
Love you all,

Lori , I can't believe that you are gone. It just doesn't seem fair. I don't know what happened or why you have been taken from your friends and family at such a young age. I realize it has been quite sometime since we had seen each other but that doesn't make it any easier. You were always such a kind and outgoing person and you will be truly missed by all who knew you.

To Dave and the Boys, your wife and mom was such a delightful person to be around and I have so many memories of her and Samantha from high school that I will treasure forever. Never forget how much she loved each of you.

YOU WILL ALL BE IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. MY LOVE TO EACH OF YOU.

I grew up in the Down Home, my sister worked as a waitress for years when I was a child. She helped care for me and my little sister and often brought us to work. She didn't have to ask, Brother Dave always looked out for us. When we werent scampering around like hamsters we'd sit next to him in the two cramped seats closest to the bar & sound area. The Down Home has always had a family feel to it, and it was a comfort to walk in and see him smiling, always with a good word to say decade after decade. He was the grandfather everyone wished they had. My heart goes to his family, both blood related and otherwise.

Every time I played or visited the Down Home, Brother Dave was one of the two people I always looked forward to seeing there. The other was Phil Leonard. That was because they would always make me laugh and smile. And they always gave you something real you could take with you. I will miss Brother Dave's warmth, his humor, his old-school love for music and musicians, and the twinkle in his eyes. I don't think there is a single person who ever crossed Brother Dave's path that won't remember him fondly and always. He was one-of-a-kind. I don't expect to ever meet anyone like Brother Dave again - I don't think the Good Lord has a need to make another one. He got it just right the first time.

I was blessed to call Brother Dave my friend for 28yrs. I first met him at Fannon's Mkt in the early 80's, he taught me how to shoot pool and we played many a game in those early years. He and I use to talk and laugh for hours, he had so many humorous stories to tell.and I don't think there was anything about music that he didn't know. In later years I would usually see him when I went to the Down Home or if I was just passing by sometimes he would be standing outside and I would blow the horn or cat whistle and he would wave and flash that big smile. I will always remember his smile most of all...it warmed you up the moment you saw it. Brother Dave was one of a kind and I am a better person from having known him. I plan to attend the gathering tonight at the Down Home to celebrate his life. I will miss him terribly and he will hold a special place in my heart forever. I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to his family, may God be with you and comfort you during this time.

I first met Brother Dave at the Southwest Depot and then came to know him over many years at the Down Home. I remember arriving at my first Telluride Bluegrass Festival at 2:00am after a 40- hour road trip. Charlie and I pitched a tent at the city campground in the dark. The next morning I stumbled out of the tent and was greeted by a gigantic mountain and Brother Dave! Later that year I left East Tennessee to live in many other places. For over 20 years, each time I came home and went to the Down Home, Brother Dave was always the first person I looked for. Coming home will never be the same. I will so miss his genuine charm, wit, and warmth.

I'll certainly miss Dave. We met the first time I played the Down Home around '77 or '78. From '85 to '08 I'd see him every Christmastime when Doc and I would play there. Brother Dave was kind of the grizzled but always smiling face of the Down Home to me. I performed there many times over the past 25 years or so and he was a constant bright presence there - welcoming, jovial, a twinkle in his eye, that East Tennessee drawl, his wild beard, easy to laugh, a sip of moonshine, and a respect and love for the kind of music that I and a host of other bluegrassers and beyond brought to the club. I am a happier and better person to have known him and I'll carry a small part of that big spirit with fond memory, respect, and an unabashed yeeha!
With condolences to family and friends, Mark Schatz, Crownsville, MD

Brother Dave was one of those few people who would do anything for anybody. I know that if I ever needed anything he would be there. He was a staple at the Down Home and in Bluegrass Music in general. I always knew when I went to the Down Home or any other event were Brother Dave was present, I would always feel welcomed. Thank you for the memories and may God Bless Brother Dave!

Brother Dave was a kind, gentle man to me always. His smiling face and warm, welcoming words always made me feel I was "somebody". I know I join with many in my business to say he will be greatly missed. 'Tis the end of an era for Johnson City and the music scene there. God bless you and keep you, Brother Dave!

Joey [Francis],

Our condolences are with you at this time. Your mother was an important part of so many of our lives. I still tell stories about her, from serving beef tongue for dinner at the house in Col. Hts. to having cats named Won Ton and Two Ton at the house in Kpt. She is missed!

To the Cash family,
Mike and I have been neighbors of Bobby's for over 3 years now, and although we have had not the chance to meet, I feel as though we've known him for years. As I sit in my chair and see him sitting on his front porch when the sun is shining and always see him waiting for the kids to get off the bus and come up over the hill. Bobby will be missed greatly im sure, but always remember he will have the front row to all that ya'll do! Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless,
Mike & Paula Maples

To the family of Robert Cash I would like to say I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Mr Cash from coming into the local cable compamy Comcast I have waited on him for the 5 years that I have been a employee for Comcast. He was a man that I will never forget he was very funny and friendly to everyone. No matter how bad he felt he was always able to come in and say hello and pay his bill. He will never be forgot by any of us here in the local office. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

To the Cash family: I am sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. I knew him and worked with him for many years at Mor-Flo (American Water Heater). He was such a kind and gentle man and always had a smile. He will be missed here, but oh what a rejoicing there is in Heaven.

To the family of Robert Wallace, my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. One comforting thought is that he is with your mom now and they're
together again. He isn't suffering anymore. I know these words are just empty sayings, but know that you guys are in my heart and my prayers! Hopefully he'll
meet my dad up there and they can sit and talk for a while! Love you Linda!

My deepest sympathies,
Bonnie
