Anna Gillin- Gray, Tennessee

Anna Gillin, 92, passed away at Life Care Center of Gray, on Monday, September 23, 2019. Mrs. Gillin as born on January 16, 1927, in Wettstetter, Germany to her parents the late Walburga and Johann Kufner Gutknecht.  Mrs. Gillin was a native of Wettstetter, Germany but had lived in the Johnson City, Tennessee area for the past 3 years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gillin was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Arthur Gillin.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jedel Hauser Margareta; four brothers, Michael, Josef, Johann, and Ludwig Kufner; one daughter, JoAnn Gillin; and one granddaughter, Jessica.

Those left to cherish Mrs. Gillin’s memory are her sister-in-law, Christine Surcey; nieces, Debbie Greenway, who was her loving caretaker and Katherine Brown; and nephews, Mark and Chris Surcey; and several other nieces and nephews.

The family will conduct a private inurnment service in Newport, Tennessee at a later date.

The family would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to the staff of Life Care Center of Gray and Ballad Health Hospice for their loving care and support they extended to Mrs. Gillin.
