Annie Light- Kingsport, Tennessee

Annie Virginia Light, 75, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee, on Tuesday, September 6, 2021.  Annie was born on April 9, 1946, in Rogersville, Tennessee, to the late William Guy and Betty Lawson Necessary. 

Annie was a native of Rogersville but had lived in Kingsport for 40 years.  She was a Christian and attended the Holiness Faith New Testament of Jesus Christ.          

In addition to her parents, Annie was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Light; 4 brothers, Ralph, Cotton, JB, and Clarence Necessary; 1 daughter, Sherri Lee Necessary; 1 nephew, Daniel Joe Necessary, Jr; 2 infant great-grandchildren, Carter and Cooper Necessary. 

Those left to cherish Annie’s memory include her daughters, Peggy Necessary and Brenda Huff & husband David; sons, Henry Necessary & wife Lora, Richard Necessary & wife Holly, Bobby Gene Light & wife Donna; brothers, Daniel Joe Necessary, sr. & wife Phyllis, and Ronnie Necessary & wife Josie; 9 grandchildren, Virginia Honeycutt & husband Gregory, Alex Necessary & wife Amanda, Damian Necessary & wife Tearyonda, David Huff & wife Sheena, Jessica Light, Justin Light, Jeremy Light, Steven Ellis, Michael Ellis as well as 24 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends at Snyder’s Memorial Gardens, funeral home, located in Gray, Tennessee, on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 5-7:00 PM.  A funeral service will follow beginning at 7:00 PM.

There will also be a graveside service held at Sulphur Springs Cemetery, in Sulphur Springs, Tennessee, on Friday, September 10, 2021, beginning at 11:00 AM.  Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Niswonger Children’s Hospital, at balladhealth.org
