Charles Coffey- Gray, TN

Charles Leon Coffey, 68, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away at the Holston Valley Medical Center, in Kingsport, Tennessee, on Thursday, September 1, 2022.  Mr. Coffey was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Norman Nathaniel and Georgie Lazenby Coffey.    

Charles was a native of Gray and lived in the area for forty years.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Fordtown Baptist Church.  He retired from Eastman Chemical Co. after many years of service to the company. 

In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Moorefield. 

Those left to cherish Charles’ memory include his loving wife, Rita Reece Coffey; daughter, Misty Tester; son, Dusty Coffey; sister, Dorothy Frazier (Bart); two brothers, Clarence Coffey (Shirley), and Joseph Coffey (Ruth); three grandchildren, Marissa Bernard (Dillon), Dillon Tester, and Nicholas Tester; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will be honoring Charles at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 24, 2022, beginning at 3:00 pm, at Fordtown Baptist Church, located at 444 Old Fordtown Rd, Kingsport, TN 37663.  Pastor Brian Moore and Pastor Keith Smith will be officiating the service.
