Charlotte Roberts Obituary

I lost my beautiful and talented Charlotte. What a joy she was and suffered for so long, never having a chance to see her dream of becoming a curator at The Guggenheim or Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the family moved to Michigan City, Indiana when she was young. She became friends with the Miller family in Beverly Shores, Indiana, and became friends with their daughter, Joni Miller, who lived in the famous House Of Tomorrow from the 1933 Chicago Worlds Fair.

She graduated from Elston High School in Michigan City and received a scholarship to attend Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Minnesota. She was there for a few years, and being tired of the cold weather she transferred to San Francisco Academy of Art. She was there for a year, and the family had since moved to Little Rock, Arkansas but needed her to return to help. There she met her future husband to be, Steve Roberts at Agape Church. They were married in 1983 at Agape Church by Pastor Happy Caldwell. They then moved to Johnson City, Tennessee and she attended East Tennessee State University. She received a scholarship to attend Savannah College of Art and Design, but due to numerous health problems, she was not able to attend.

She was preceded in death by her father Charles Osborn and her brother Keith Osborn.

She is survived by her mother Alma Osborn, Little Rock, Arkansas, her sisters, Marilynn Tibbs, Little Rock Arkansas, and Nancy Moore, Fleetwood, Pennsylvania and several nephews and nieces.

I love you and miss you and wish you had been able to see your dream in the art world as a curator become a reality……Steve.
