Denise (Gardner) Young

Denise Gardner Young- Jonesborough, TN

Denise Gardner Young, 43, passed away on early Sunday morning, December 16, 2018, at her home in Jonesborough, TN. Denise was born on February 23, 1975, in Kingsport, TN, to Daniel and Patricia Weeks Gardner. 

Denise was a native of the Boones Creek and Gray areas but had lived in Jonesborough for the past ten years.  She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Kingsport, a 1993 graduate of Daniel Boone High School, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Jonesborough.  She loved children and loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Denise was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Orville H. and Rita Arcia Gardner and maternal grandfather Geoffrey Weeks.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory are her husband John Young; her daughter Anna Young; her son Jared Gardner and his wife Kelsie, her grandmother Margarita Weeks; her brother Daniel L. Gardner II;  two grandchildren Brice and Hayden Gardner; a niece Britney N. Gardner; and two nephews Daniel L. Gardner III & Darin K. Gardner.

The family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM, at Snyder’s Memorial Gardens, located at 5913 Kingsport Highway in Gray, TN.  The funeral mass will begin at 7:00 PM in the chapel with Father Emanuel officiating.

It is Denise’s wishes that in lieu of flowers that you would plant a yellow rose in her memory.
