Dorothy (Nidiffer) Sells

Dorothy Sells, 96, of 1940 Allison Rd, Piney Flats, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Born on March 5, 1929, in Sullivan County, Tennessee, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Robert and Rhoda Nidiffer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, M.J. Sells, 5 sisters, Ruth Gross, Evelyn Guinn, Helen Vannoy, Alice Odom, Mary Ketchum, and 1 brother, Jim Nidiffer.

Dorothy's warmth and nurturing spirit will be forever missed by her loving daughters, Janice Bise and Sharon Chase (Steven). Her sister Phyllis Brewer also survives her as well as her 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Chatman (Mark), Melanie Hicks (Doug), Matthew Chase (Teresa), Leah Payne (Jarrod), Josh Chatman (Kacie), and Chris Chatman (April), and her 10 great-grandchildren, Eli Payne, Rheagan Hicks, Tucker Chase, Brooks Chase, Ellie Payne, Jaxon Chatman, Kaylynn Chatman, James Chatman, Jesse Chatman, and Marshall Chatman.

A graveside service to honor Dorothy will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Greg Lovelace and Pastor Eddie Smith officiating.

Pallbearers will be Matt Chase, Steve Chase, Eli Payne, Doug Hicks, Mark Chatman, and David Snyder. Honorary pallbearers are Tucker Chase, Brooks Chase, and Ellie Payne.
