Earl Norman Kilbourne of Gray, TN passed away Friday, December 7, 2018, at his home. With his family by his side, he was looking forward to being with his Heavenly Father.
He was born February 17, 1934, in Hiltons, VA to Otis and Josephine Kilbourne. He has lived in the Gray community his entire adult life. He attended Boones Creek High School and ETSU. He worked in the polymer division at Eastman. He was a member of Gray United Methodist Church.
Mr. Kilbourne was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
Surviving Mr. Kilbourne is his loving wife of 66 years, S. Juanita Wright Kilbourne. Daughters, Geri {Randy} Hite of Gray, Kim {Dail} Kitzmiller of Gray and Lora Charmaine {Scott} Saulsbury} of Hilton Head. One surviving brother, Kenneth Kilbourne of Gray. Grandchildren, Niki Carder Sulphur Springs, Justin Hite, Kingsport, Brooke Passehl, Hawaii, Robert Hite, Gray, Lacey Phillips, Cartersville, Georgia, Jason Gray, Stavanger, Norway, Jared Gray, Eugene, Oregon, Joey Gray, Johnson City. Twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kilbourne, with his wife by his side, served on several mission trips within the United States and in Costa Rica, Canada, and Japan. He loved using his creative ability in welding V.W. rail buggies. He also was considered a master carpenter, enjoying remodeling and building houses.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, from 1:00 until 2:30 with a memorial service following at Gray United Methodist Church 2108 Oak St., Gray, TN. Dr. Dennis Flaughtery will officiate.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice nurses, and especially Chaplin Tom Edwards.
