Eugene Edward Gauvreau

Eugene Gauvreau- Bristol, TN

Eugene Edward Gauvreau, 84, of Bristol, Tennessee, passed away at Viviant Health Care, in Bristol, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon, June 9, 2022.  Eugene was born in Woburn, Massachusetts, to the late Alphonse and Sarah Josephine Johnson Gauvreau.    

Eugene was a native of Massachusetts and Florida, but had lived in Tennessee for the past 41 years.  He was of the Mormon faith.  He graduated from Woburn High School at the young age of 13, and then obtained his bachelor’s degree from Boston University.  He then joined the United States Air Force where he would serve for the next 14 years.  He was a jack of all trades.  He had a photographic memory, was a wonderful artist, and an extremely talented builder and carpenter. 

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his daughter, Maureen Gauvreau; son, Michael Gauvreau; granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Hurley; brother, Richard “Dick” Gauvreau; sister, Estelle Brown; and ex-spouses, Linda Lorraine Gauvreau and Donna Gauvreau.   

Those left to cherish Eugene’s memory include; his sons and their wives, Scotti Lee Gauvreau (P.J.) and Sean Gauvreau (Jennifer); sister, Rosalie Townsend; 7 grandchildren, Christina Hurley, Angelica Rose, Michael Eugene Gauvreau, Donovan Hemi Gauvreau, Christopher Gage Gauvreau, Shane Michael Gauvreau, and Bailey Woods Gauvreau; goddaughter, Robin Longendyke, and her children, Erica Foster and Taeyoung Lee; as well as 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will be honoring Eugene’s wishes to be cremated without any formal services.
