Church Hill, TN- Georgia Mildred Mullins

 Georgia Mildred Mullins, 80, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 2, 2017, at Holston Manor in Kingsport TN.

 She was born in Sneedville TN but made her home in Church Hill TN.

Mildred received her Teaching Certificate from East Tennessee State University and went on to teach Elementary School before she became a full-time homemaker. She eventually served as a Head Start Teacher for several years. Mrs. Mullins enjoyed reading, listening to music and exploring Appalachian folklore. Mildred was a lifelong member of Belmont Baptist Church in Mt. Carmel TN. 

 She is preceded in death by her husband John Elbert Mullins to whom she was married for 54 years. She was additionally preceded in death by her siblings Hoover Odom, Clifford Odom, Mavis Gay Givens and June Rhea.

She is survived by six children; John Stuart Mullins, Melba St. Pierre, Sonya Mullins, Michael Mullins, James Mullins and Brent Mullins; one Brother Dean Odom and one sister Ruth Moses.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service for friends and family on January 21, 2017, with visitation from 4 pm – 5 pm and a service following visitation, at Belmont Baptist Church.
