Harold Morrison, 86, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at his home.
He lived his entire life here in the area and was of Baptist faith. Mr. Morrison was a retired veteran who proudly served his country for 23 years in the U.S. Army, serving in WWII, in several theaters. He also served 2 tours in Korea. While not serving his country he was a Patrolman for the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Beatrice Morrison; 3 sisters, Helen Carden, Bonnie Morrison, Margaret Morrison; and 1 brother, Howard Morrison.
Surviving Mr. Morrison are his loving wife, Joyce Wrightstone Morrison of the home, his daughter, Jo Ann Morrison of Kingsport, TN; his son, Harold Morrison, Jr. and wife, Deanna, of Kingsport; sisters-in-law, Carol McCreary and husband, Larry, of New Cumberland, PA, Wanda Gelbaugh and husband, Glen, of Camp Hill, PA; Diane Atchley and husband, John, of New Cumberland, PA. There are 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation for Harold Morrison will be held on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 6:00-8:00pm, with the Service to follow at 8:00pm in the chapel at Snyder’s Funeral Home. Rev. Leb Thornburg and Robert Fultz officiating.
Burial services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Snyder's Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m.
Honorary Pallbearers for Mr. Morrison will be Dan Kincheloe, Dan Short, Gerald Wheelock and other friends & family.
Flowers will be accepted but contributions can also be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Amedysis Hospice of Kingsport.
