Henry R. Cherry

          Gray- Henry R. Cherry, age 91, Gray, TN went to rest in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020.  Henry was a 31 year veteran of the U.S. Navy where he retired as Master Chief.  He lived in Virginia Beach and then worked as a Wal-Mart greeter to stay active in his retirement.  His greatest joys were gardening and his family.

          Henry is survived by his wife, Elna Carlene Cherry, who he was married to for 66 years.  They have two children Patricia A. Adams, husband Don, Gray, TN, and Marion Gail Reeves, Gray, TN.  He had four grandchildren, Dawn C. Reeves, Johnson City, TN, Joshua S. Adams, Gray, TN, Michelle L. Booker, Gray, TN, and Lauren Hall, husband Chris, Gray, TN.  He had one great grand-daughter, Nasja Reeves, daughter of Dawn Reeves.  He is also survived by a brother, Gerald Wayne Cherry, age 98, of LaFayette, TN.  He was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

          Funeral Services will be on Friday, Jan. 17 at 11:00 am at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, TN.  Burial Services are being handled by Snyder’s Memorial Gardens of Gray, TN.
