James Lester Smith- Honaker, VA

James Smith, 41, went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2016. He departed this life from Bristol at the home of a friend. James was born November 7, 1974 in Richlands, VA to Barbara Keene Smith and the late Walter Herman Keene.

James graduated from Honaker High School in 1992 and Nashville Auto Diesel College in 1994. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed woodworking, working on model cars/trucks, and spending time with his family. James often bragged that he had seen the sun rise and set in every state except Hawaii during his time spent as a truck driver and owner/operator.

In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his adoptive father, Ray Edward Smith; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Arlie Miller; paternal grandparents; Mr. & Mrs. Walter Keene; and adoptive grandfather, Ed Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Barbara; daughter, Alie Ann Smith; sons, James Albert Smith and Keith Edward Smith; adoptive grandmother, Zena Smith; half-brother, Michael Honaker; and two very special ex-wives and great friends, Summer Canady and Tami Price.
