Janice Faye Tester, 66, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024, at the Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Born to the late Ralph and Nora Louise Farthing Graybeal on May 22, 1958, Janice was a lifelong resident of Johnson City, TN.
Janice graduated from Science Hill High School and soon demonstrated a strong work ethic through her dedication to various jobs. She invested a decade of her career at Inland Container, followed by another tenure at TPI. In later years, Janice found her true calling as a caregiver, dedicating herself selflessly to the needs of others.
Janice's memory will be cherished by her adoring family, including her husband, Bennie Tester; sons, James Jeremiah Gillis and Brandon Tester; daughter, Sundai Shaw; grandchildren Tiffany Surcey (Jacob), Zachary Gillis, and Makayla Shaw; siblings Patsy Hurley (Gary), Dennis Graybeal (Judy), Eddie Graybeal (Kat), Bo Winters, Dawn Settel, and Penny Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded death by her brother Melvin Graybeal, and sister Nina Snyder.
Janice's zest for life was evident in her everyday interactions. She relished long conversations with friends and family. She enjoyed every moment spent with her grandchildren and adored her pets.
Janice was a devoted member of the Crossroads Christian Church, where she forged deep connections with her church family, including David and Sandra Bickle, Robin Johnson, and Stacy Jones, among others who will miss her presence dearly.
The family of Mrs. Tester will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Crossroads Christian Church located at 1300 Suncrest Dr, Gray, TN 37615. The memorial service will follow with Minister Clint Andrews officiating.
