Jean Dye Obituary

Jean Marie Dull Dye, 78, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, at Nova Health and Rehab in Weber City, VA. Born on December 9, 1946, in Monona, Iowa, to the late Eugene Leroy Dull and Georgia Mae Bruehahn Dull, Jean was a beacon of love and family dedication throughout her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Edward Dye, Jr.; her infant twin sister, Joan Marie Dull; her brother, Donald Gene Dull; and her sister, Rita Ann Moore.

Jean grew up in a loving family, spending her initial years in Monona before moving to Norton, where she spent 30 fulfilling years. She was a proud 1965 graduate of George C. Marshall in Falls Church, VA, after which she devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. This role did not merely define her; it showcased her extraordinary capacity to love, nurture, and provide a warm, loving home for her loved ones.

Survived by her daughters, Valerie Martin (Paul) and Crystal Combs (Jeffery), and her sister, Colleen Kay Dull, as well as 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews, Jean's legacy is one of heartfelt moments and precious memories. She instilled her values and warmth into the tapestry of her family’s lives, impacting her children and grandchildren with every meal shared and every holiday celebrated together.

Jean had a passion for cooking and crafting that enriched the lives of all who knew her. She often found joy cooking for her family and friends, who cherished the food made with her expert hands. Crafting was not merely a pastime but a way for Jean to express her love and creativity, each piece a testament to her attention to detail and her zest for life.

Crystal – “Mom had a heart of gold and would do anything for the people she loved! She was very close to and loved every minute she got to spend with her granddaughter, Madison or “Rosie” as she called her, and her grandson Dalton. All the kids that come around LOVED Granny.”

A memorial service to home Ms. Dye will be announced at a later date.
