Jerry “Andy” Adams, Gray, Tennessee
Jerry “Andy” Adams, 50, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Andy was born on August 4, 1969, in Johnson City, Tennessee, to Velma Gilreath Adams and the late Lewis Edmond Adams.
Andy was a native of Gray and lived most of his life in the Tri-Cities area. He served his country receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force; was a graduate of Daniel Boone High School; earned his Associate and Bachelor's degree in Engineering at East Tennessee State University; he also worked as an engineer for the City of Johnson City.
In addition to his father, Andy was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Lisa Adams.
In addition to his mother, Vel Gilreath Hyde, those left to cherish his memory are his wife of eleven years, Cindy Adams; step-father, Barry Hyde; one step-daughter, Jodi Reed; two step-sons, Michael and Joshua Hill; a brother, Todd Adams; a very special nephew, Lucas Adams; two uncles, Frank and James Adams; and several step-grandchildren including Taylor, McKenna, and Kylor.
A Military Honors Service is scheduled at Mountain Home National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 1:00 PM, everybody is to meet at the annex in the new section of the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Andy’s name to the Washington County Animal Shelter.
