Joyce B. Walker, 87, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2019, in TN after a brave battle with Dementia and Cancer. Joyce was born in Australia to her beloved Mother, also an Australian, and her dear Father, a British gentleman, and fine artist. Married in Australia to her first husband Joseph, an American, her family later moved to the United States. After becoming a widow, Joyce later earned her BSN, and worked on her MSN and served for many years as a nurse in hospitals, VNA, and for the State of Florida. In the mid-'90s, Joyce then married Ed Walker. After living in FL, they moved to TN and lived there until their deaths. Joyce loved the arts, fine culture, classical music, gardening, and everything British and proper, and Joyce's heart her whole life, truly belonged to Australia and all things European.
Joyce is predeceased by her parents who she cared so greatly for, for many, many years; her dear husband Ed; her beloved son Glenn and her children’s father. Joyce is survived by her daughters Andrea Luaces and Fiona Goodyear and her daughter Cassandra; her son Glenn’s son, Dylan; her brother Robert; and many dear nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Australia. We loved Joyce and are so grateful for the many great things she shared with so many. In lieu of flowers, donations may kindly be made in her name to Amedisys Foundation (Hospice), 2025 Meadowview Pkwy, Suite #101, Kingsport, TN 37660. A special thanks to Joyce's many caregivers especially those at the Village at Allandale.
