Larry Lester Obituary

Larry Lynn Lester, 49, passed away at Wellmont Hospital  on Friday, August 26, 2016. He was born at the same hospital on April 16, 1967. Larry was a member of  West View Baptist Church and was loved by all that met him.

Larry is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Tamala “Tami” Cody of the home; his daughters Casey Moore ( Sam) of  Anna, TX  , Brittany Lynn Lester and Chloe Lee Lester  both of North Carolina, grand children Sawyer Moore and Clara Moore ; loving parents Allen & Jan         ( Pafford) Lester; brothers Bobby Lester & Donny Lester , a sister Kathy Moffitt  and brother-in-law  Chris , nephew Landon Moffitt, neice Kaitlyn Moffitt, and grandmother Chloe Burgess of Baisden , WV. He  is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Larry was a 1985 graduate of Sullivan North High School and graduated from East Tn State University in 1989 with a BS in Political Science. He later received a Master’s of Teaching from ETSU. He worked at Fingerhut and AFG Corporate as a Supervisor.

Larry enjoyed fishing at the family’s place on Lake Weiss , Alabama. He was a collector of Hot Wheels and comic books. The desires of Larry’s heart were simple and exhibited contentment with the small things of the world. He and Tami  enjoyed many hours watching the  blue birds, wildlife, and butterflies on his property. He was lovingly known as the family clown and went to great lengths to play pranks, have a good laugh, and cut-up regardless of the situation.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one’s favorite charity.
