Linda Ward Killen, age 77, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away
peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 31, 2026. Born
on December 9, 1948, in Washington College, Tennessee, Linda was a
cherished daughter of the late Finn and Essie Bennett Ward.
Linda was a graduate of Jonesboro High School and a long-time member
of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her dear
parents, beloved husband Roger Killen, her loving son Brian Killen,
and eight of her siblings whom she dearly loved.
She leaves behind family who adored her, including her daughter Angel
Killen Folk and her husband Joe; her sister Venita Ward; her special
nephew James "Rusty" Sanford and his wife Jo Ann; as well as numerous
nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Linda’s spirit
will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Linda was an accomplished and passionate bowler, competing in
tournaments at the national level. Her dedication, competitive spirit,
and notable skill earned her a collection of trophies throughout the
years. She had a passion for travel, delighting in visits to new and
interesting places - especially museums and zoos. She will be greatly
missed, but her legacy lives on through her family, friends, and all
the lives she touched.
Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate
doctors, nurses, and caregivers who supported Linda over the past
several years and helped her continue to thrive with grace and good
spirits. A special thank you is given to her caregiver, Caitlin
Taylor, Amedisys Hospice, and Lakebridge Skilled Nursing Center for
their exceptional care and kindness.
Linda will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Linda’s family will receive friends from 5:30 - 6:30 PM, Friday,
February 6, 2026, at Snyder’s Memorial, located at 5913 Kingsport Hwy
in Gray, TN. A funeral service to honor her memory will follow at 6:30
PM, with Rev. Charles Vincent Shemwell officiating.
