Lynn White Church

Our beloved Lynn White Church, age 81, of the Johnson City, TN area, went to be with the LORD on Friday, August 2, 2024. A devoted Christian, who loved to tell others of his love for the LORD, was loved, and is loved, by many family and friends, far and wide.

Lynn is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy C. Church; son, Raymond (Ray) L. Church and his wife Leanne of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Deborah (Deb) G. Church of Johnson City, TN; sisters, Janie C. Eggleston of VA and Brenda C. Rafter of CA; and “daughter by love not blood”, Mickey P. Snyder and husband Dave of Johnson City, TN. He is preceded in death by parents, Albert A. Church and Melva F. Church, and his three brothers, Bobby, Allen and Linwood.

Lynn lived in Chesterfield, VA most of his life, where he retired from E.I. Dupont after 37 years as a pipefitter and was a volunteer fireman for 30 years (10 years as the Chief) with Chester Fire Department. After retirement, he lived in WV for 20 years, prior to moving to Tennessee in 2021. He was an active member of his church community throughout his life, acting as deacon, leading congregation outreach, home visitation, and local and out of state disaster relief activities.

Visitation is Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at Bowmantown Baptist Church, 418 Bowmantown Rd., Jonesborough, TN. His Celebration of Life service is immediately following.
