Mary Nell Barker Parsons, Bristol, TN. age 79 departed from this life into eternal life on March 12, 2017, after a lengthy illness.
Born on October 26, 1937, to parents Carl W. & Pauline Morris Barker of Keokee, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Julia Fayne Barker. Mary Nell was a graduate of Keokee High School class of 1957. A former employee of Magnavox Co. Johnson City TN. She is a member of Bunkerhill Christian Church Bluff City TN.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Billy Joe Parsons, daughter Jennifer Lynn Humphreys Bristol, TN, son Billy Joe Parsons II & wife Tammy and daughter Vanessa of Elizabethton, TN. sisters Anita Rhodes and Luther, Johnson City, TN. Gwenda Coomer Johnson City, TN. Elizabeth Orellana and Mario Keokee, VA., Nancy Ellis and Conley Keokee, VA. Brothers Carl (Bobe) Barker Jr. & Sue Wallingford, KY. Nicky Barker & Rhonda Keokee VA. Rex Barker Keokee, VA. Dell Barker Keokee, VA. Several nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-laws, special friends Kimberly Woods James, Brian and David Casaday and their families.
A celebration of life service will be held on March 26, 2017, at 11:00 am at Bunkerhill Christian Church in Bluff City, TN.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bunkerhill Christian Church building fund, 490 Bunkerhill Rd. Bluff City, TN. 37618. Thanks to Dr. Frank Johnson at S.O.F.H.A. and Dr. Mark Chang, Wellmont CVA for providing for Mary’s Healthcare the last 25 years. Thanks to nurses and staff at BRMC ICU, ICU 3rd floor step down south, 4th floor west for their comforting concerns to our family, Thanks to Helen Walker Hospice Care Spiritual Counselor and all the Hospice Staff. The family wishes to thank all for the visits, calls, cards, and food. A special thanks to the families of Don & Lori Casaday, Brian & David Sonny, Ann Woods and Kimberly for their expressions of love and compassion during Mary’s Illness.
