Minnie Ellen “Elly” Crawford, 73, left this earth by angels on Monday, November 11, 2024, surrounded by those lucky enough to call her Mom. Elly was born Wednesday, April 4, 1951, in Church Hill, TN where beautiful memories were made that she always cherished with her 12 siblings. She was employed at AFG of Kingsport.
She will be lovingly remembered as a conversation starter to strangers, fearless with a determined grit, independent, loyal, strong-willed, and her defined sense of humor.
Elly could always be found outside enjoying the sun. Prior to her failing health, was a lover of digging in the dirt to plant flowers and trees or removing them but only to be replaced with another. Other enjoyments included working puzzles, playing cards with family, and later in life, finding treasures at the thrift stores.
She had an array of natural talents that weren’t limited to painting, basket making, and tennis. In regards to tennis, without even taking a lesson, she became first in the nation in her division.
Elly was preceded in death by her parents John & Nora Crawford; four brothers, Mack “Bud”, Voice “Dan”, Roy, and Gale Crawford; four sisters, Wilma Crawford, Vivian “Bea” Derrick, Carol Crawford, Janice Crawford, and Dale Munsey.
She will be lovingly remembered by the survived; her daughter, Tawana Robinson (Jose A. Pineda) and her sons, Joshau Falin (Sharon), and John Paul Crawford; one grandchild, Tyler Robinson, and two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel “Nate” Robinson and Wyatt Robinson. Elly has one surviving brother, James “Blondie” Crawford; one surviving sister, Shirley Jobe and two very special best friends, Freddie Foster and Ruth Burchette.
At her request and wishes there will be no memorial or funeral service but she will always be missed by family and friends. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you perform a random act of kindness in her honor.
Snyder’s Memorial is honored to serve the family of Ms. Minnie Ellen “Elly” Crawford.
