Norman Lynn ‘Sonny’ Snyder, Sr. - Gray

Norman Lynn Snyder went Home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2016. He departed this life from Agape Assisted Living in Johnson City. Sonny was born November 10, 1939 in Gray, Tennessee to the late Linville T. Snyder and Mildred L. Snyder. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Tennessee.

Sonny was a graduate of Oak Grove School, worked as a carpenter and also did masonry work.

He loved fishing, fast cars, gardening and watching his flowers bloom. Sonny was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed being around his friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Y. Burkey and brother, Charles L. Snyder.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Norman L. Snyder, Jr.; sister, Darlene Deadrick; brothers, John A. Snyder, Samuel D. Snyder, Anthony J. Snyder and Daniel E. Snyder; several nieces and nephews; and too many friends to list.

The family would like to thank the staff at Agape Assisted Living for the care and compassion shown to Sonny and his family.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11 am at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Sonny’s minister and best friend, Jess Phipps will officiate and Tim Tipton will say a few words.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Snyder’s Memorial Gardens or the American Cancer Society.
