Peggy Snodgrass Obituary

Peggy was a devoted wife and mother. She was the glue that held the family together. Peggy tried her best to be everything that everyone needed all the time. She was married to her soulmate Bill Snodgrass for 67 years. She was unwaveringly faithful to her husband and her family. In addition to her soulmate, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Conley Edward Davis and Irene Lawson Dixon Davis; her sisters, Shirly Smith and Betty Vaughn; and her granddaughter, Letha Marie Snodgrass. Peggy is survived by her children, Billy Joe, Jr. (Vanessa), Dale (Linda), Mark (Tiffeney), Keith (Kimberly) Snodgrass, and Tammy Williams (Todd); eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was not only a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother but she was also a very talented seamstress.

She loved to sew and made her children's clothes often. She was also an excellent teacher. She taught kindergarten for over 20 years and then tutored for several more years. Peggy loved working with children and teaching them how to read. She had great expectations for her students and also great love for them as well. Peggy was a wonderful cook, preparing meals for her five children and then later on for her grandchildren.  Peggy was very selfless and giving.

She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and His love showed through her life every day. Peggy was a Sunday school teacher for many many years and also helped her husband Bill with the bus ministry.  She loved the simple things in life. The feel of the sun on her face, the songs of birds, and the roses that grew in view of her window. She especially loved her porch swing as that is where she and her husband would sit and talk for hours. Peggy always had a smile for everyone she met and was always on the go with endless energy. She loved music and loved to dance. Her life has had a wonderful impact on so many people and she will be greatly missed.
