Richard Davenport - Kingsport, Tennessee

Richard Eugene Davenport, 51, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center, in Johnson City, Tennessee, on Wednesday afternoon, June 15, 2022.  Richard was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, to Charles Gene and Kathy Lee Fitzgerald Davenport.      

Richard was a native of Gray but had lived in Kingsport for the past 9 years.  He was of the Christian faith.  He graduated from Daniel Boone High School and was the owner and operator of his trucking company, Davenport Trucking.  Richard loved riding motorcycles and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Davenport.

Those left to cherish Richard’s memory include; his wife, Roxanne Davenport; four daughters, Halley Davenport (Billy Shaffer), Kenley Davenport (Colton Grills), Kalyn Davenport, & Emily Pierce (Andy); two sons, Kent Callahan (Brittany), and John “Jay” Callahan (Jordan); parents, Charles and Kathy Davenport; two sisters, Tammy Hull (Matthew), and Bridgette Stapleton (Wayne); one brother, Lonnie Davenport (Becky Edmisten Hall); 10 grandchildren, Cason, Brandon, Kailey, Owen, Lilly, Jillian, Ollie, Sailor, Conor, & Olen; special friends, Carson Alexander, Joey Harrison, Jeff Bales, Michael Adkins, & Stacy Bayse; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.

Richard’s family will be having a Celebration of Life service on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 6-8:00 pm at Snyder’s Memorial Gardens, funeral home, in Gray, Tennessee.
