Ricky Scott Taylor, made his unexpected departure from this earthly journey in Jonesborough, TN, on September 24, 2023. Born on September 27, 2002, in Johnson City, TN, Ricky brought joy and warmth to those around him for the brief 20 years of his life.
Ricky leaves behind a loving family. Grieving his loss are his father, Jon Taylor (Morgan), his mother, Robin Elrod, his two brothers, Jon-Jon Taylor (Allie), Todd Rasmussen, and his step-sister, Ariana Childers. He also leaves his girlfriend, Jenna Gardner, special nieces, Macie and Kylie Taylor, and his grandmothers, Brenda Taylor and Shirley Roberts. Ricky is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Taylor.
Educated at Daniel Boone High School, from where he graduated in 2021, Ricky was well-liked and fondly remembered by his classmates and staff. Outside the classroom, he enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles, the competition of motocross, and the freedom of skateboarding.
Selfless, kind, and friendly, Ricky was a symbol of generosity. His radiant spirit and contagious laugh will forever echo in the hearts of the many lives he touched. Even though his journey was brief, Ricky’s impact will live on. His radiant soul will forever shine in our hearts.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Snyder's Memorial. The funeral service will follow with Evangelist Charles "Toonie" Cash officiating.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 28 at Snyder's Memorial Gardens.
