Ronald Rush Obituary

Ronald Virgil Rush- Harmony Community, Jonesborough, TN.

Ronald Virgil Rush, 73, passed away August 12, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.

“Ronnie” to his family and friends was born December 24, 1944, in Kingsport, TN, to the late Virgil Walter and Mildred Ethel (Cline) Rush.

His kind and caring spirit touched many lives. He helped family and neighbors farming, coached summer league youth baseball, and was someone always willing to help if someone needed him. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter, and was an observer of nature. He was a huge NASCAR fan, if he wasn’t watching NASCAR on TV, he was listening to it on the radio.

He worked most of his life in Greeneville, TN, retiring from Jarden, Inc. after 30 years of service. He proudly served his country. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he received the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and Air Medal for his valor.

His family was firmly at the center of his heart and his greatest joy in life was his daughter and grandson. If you knew Ronnie you couldn’t help but to love him, he was just one of those people that radiated kindness.

A devoted and loving father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He is survived by his daughter Kim Rush Kilian and grandson Logan Kilian of Fall Branch, TN, sister-Judy Rush Hickman of Gray, TN, aunt- Helen Adkins of Kingsport, TN, several nieces, and nephews as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles “Coog” and Daisy (Cadle) Rush, and Tolbert and Beatrice (Graham) Cline, and a brother Everett Eugene Rush.
