Roxie Joan Bowman- Johnson City, Tennessee
Roxie Joan Bowman, 84, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away at Lakebridge Health Care Center, in Johnson City, Tennessee, on Wednesday evening, June 29, 2022. Roxie was born on January 11, 1938, in Relief, North Carolina, to the late John Eli Scalf and Nancy Miller McAmis, and her step-father, Ray McAmis.
Roxie was a native of Johnson City and lived in the area her whole life. She was of the Christian faith and was a devoted stay-at-home mother and home-keeper.
In addition to her parents, Roxie was preceded in death by her husband, Harlin Bowman; step-father, Ray McAmis; son, Jerry A. Bowman; two grandchildren, Byron Bowman, and Tabitha Grindstaff.
Roxie leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Carlis E. Bowman of Mount Carmel, TN; three daughters, Connie Terry of Wytheville, VA, Pamela Bowman of Johnson City, TN, and Lourie Sanders of Johnson City, TN; her sister, Patsy Edwards of Telford, TN; as well as four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
There will not be any formal services at this time, Roxie will be interred with her husband in a private ceremony at the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to your local animal shelter, as Roxie was an avid animal lover.
