Sara L. Gilbert- Johnson City

Sara Gilbert went Home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2016. She departed this life from Franklin Woods Community Hospital surrounded by her family. Sara was born January 1, 1950 in Piney Flats, TN to the late Lawrence and Grace Hyatt.

Sara Gilbert worked over 30 years caring for the elderly. She was a Freewill Baptist and loved her family, crafts and cooking.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her siblings, Bob, Al, Liz and Ray.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband and best friend of 43 years, James Gilbert; daughters, Patricia Ashley and husband, Britt and Amanda Gilbert; sisters, Peggy Tester (Ted) and Mary Tester (Jim); brothers, John Hyatt and Jack Hyatt (Ida); 7 grandchildren, Jessica and Emily Winters, Ben, Megan and Tracy Doman, and Jonathan and Andriana Ashley; special son, Todd Doman and special daughter, Elizabeth Fassler.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Eastern Gate Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Pastor Dave Morgan will officiate.
