Sylvia Wilcox was born on August 17, 1939 in Iredell Co., North Carolina. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, and join her husband, parents, grandson along with other friends and relatives on January 20, 2023. Sylvia and Gary lived most of their lives in Tennessee, but she been residing in Kentucky with her daughter and family for the last 18 months.
Sylvia worked for over 30 years making the most delicious homemade bread etc. at several schools and made a difference in children’s lives. She definitely believed the way to your heart was through your stomach! She learned to decorate and made the most beautiful birthday and special occasion cakes for those she loved. She also enjoyed her evening walks and visiting with her neighbors.
Over her lifetime she faithfully served the Lord through her local church teaching Sunday school, Jr. Church and wherever she was needed. Sylvia was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Sylvia and Gary met in the first grade, got to know each other in the 5th grade and were married 63 years. She leaves behind sons, Randy Wilcox, Wayne (Luz) Wilcox, daughter, Angela (Doug) Tucker along with grandchildren, Autumn (Michael) Parsons, Christopher Wilcox, David Tucker, Brandon Bautista, Sophia Bautista and great grandchildren Aubrielle Renfrow, Abel Wilcox, and Hunter Hurst. A sister, Deborah (Jerry) Day and brother Michael (Kim) Drum and several nieces, great nieces and nephew.
Sylvia was loved by all who met her. Her love and service for Jesus was always seen and will continue to be lived out through her family and loved ones she was sure to share the gospel truth with.
