Tammie Evelyn (Sanders) Stoots

Tammie Evelyn (Sanders) Stoots, 57, passed away at her home in Johnson City, TN on the morning of November 22, 2019, with her family by her side. Tammie was born July 23, 1962, in Elizabethton, TN to her mother Katherine Burke Wilcox & the late Fred Earnest Sanders, JR. 

Tammie lived her life in Johnson City and loved her home on Stoots Hill. She was of the Baptist Faith & a member of Strong Tower Baptist Church where she gave her heart to Jesus Christ. 

In addition to her birth father, Tammie is preceded in death by her stepdad, Jim Wilcox, who lovingly raised her; as well as her brother Clifford Sanders.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish Tammie’s memory are her loving husband of 39 years, Richard Stoots. Her only son, Steven Stoots and his wife Mandy. Her granddaughters, Makenzye & Stephenee. Her Mother-in-Law, Ruth Stoots, Her Aunt Pat whom she loved very much, several Uncles and Nephews, her brother Jonathan Wilcox, & her sweet Junebug & lots of family and friends.

Receiving of Friends and Family will be held on Sunday, December 1st from 5-7 pm at Strong Tower Baptist Church; 1022 Old Stage Road Johnson City, TN 37615.

A memorial service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Ancel Presnell officiating.
