Velma “Vel” Parker, 74, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN, after a lengthy illness.

Vel was born on June 11, 1943, to the late Fay William and Thelma Hills Krager in Minneapolis, Kansas.  She was a native of Minneapolis, Kansas, and Topeka, Kansas, and had lived in the Johnson City, Tennessee area for the last 17 years.    

In addition to her parents, Vel was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Vel leaves behind to cherish her memory: Four Daughters- Belinda Gunter and husband Bobby, Michelle Lenyo and husband Mike, Kathy Adams and husband David, and Christy Parker; Three sons- Bryon Smith and wife Laura, Shawn Beamish and wife Connie, and Jeff Parker and wife Theresa; Two sisters- Virginia Myher and Geraldine Shaffer; a brother Clarence Krager; 19 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Foundation, in her memory.
